Distinkt SL. has created a revolutionary smart dynamic ink based on nanotechnology to
prevent counterfeiting globally. The inks developed change its color or fluorescence when
irradiated with Near Infrared light (NIR) or high power UV. The ink can be programmed to
interact with the light source in a unique and personalized way. The inks are made of tiny
particles (of a tunable size from 200 nm to 10 μm) composed of different components that
react to the NIR light or high power UV generating a color or an emission change over time.
The time to recover the initial state can be tuned obtaining a unique fingerprint for every ink
depending on the components selected. Moreover, the effect can be easily detected with a
machine learning algorithm that detect the ink luminescent changes, authenticate the ink and
connects to digital world. The combined physical/digital encryption provided by Distinkt links
every product to an immutable digital record at every stage.
