China Banknote Printing and Minting Group Corporation Ltd. (CBPM) has been committed to integrating AI technologies into quality control throughout the production of banknotes. We have developed a series of new automation and intelligent quality control technologies, among which the Intelligent Banknote Quality Analytics System is capable of performing automated defect analysis and classification on defect images sourced from both online printing quality inspection systems and single note inspection systems. Empowered by machine vision and deep learning, this innovative solution effectively reduces false positives, enables automatic quantification of defects, flags potential quality problems, minimizes manual checks, and significantly boosts production efficiency while reducing production costs. Furthermore, we have successfully developed a variety of other automated and intelligent quality control systems and equipment, including Automated Banknote Insertion Machine, Online Inspection System for Optically Variable Films, Banknote Paper Intelligent Quality Decision-Making System, and Multi-Functional Printing Plate Inspection Machine. All of them have already been implemented across various stages of the banknote production.
